This day exactly one year ago, I hit publish on my very first post. I was extremely nervous!!!

It had taken me over a month to figure out a blog name and it took me two days to actually hit publish. In those two days, I thought about perception and audience. I was scared who would take out time to read about my style considering how simple I am.

365 days later and here I am reminiscing on how I almost did not.

Unlike most, I like to believe I had a goal before I hit publish. My goal was and still is to cater to a vast number of people via style ideas and food posts. When people ask me what I blog about, I never say fashion.

Fashion is constantly evolving and I most definitely do not believe in fashion trends. My style is what makes me different and this is what drove me to creating wovenblends. My overall goal is to let people know they can be stylish on a budget and style is not always fancy or high end. Ultimately, pieces become stylish depending on how good you carry yourself.

Despite my goal, this past year has been off to a slow start. It was me just having fun behind cameras and being the model that I love to be. There has been loads of doubt, loads of comparison, loads of laziness and loads of and lots of so many things. It is difficult to stay focused these days with so much competition and distraction on the internet.

To me, blogging seemed easy, but this past year has indeed been a learning process shaping me into the blogger I want to be. In a market so saturated, it is really important to learn how to distinguish your brand. This is one thing I have learnt in my blogging year and it is definitely something I am constantly working on.

I have learnt that people do not like simple and very few rate you if you are not splashed in glamorous pieces. Perseverance is a major key to success and it is okay to grow slowly and stay true to your brand. Keep doing you and doing good, one day the world will have no choice but to recognise how good you are.

So here is to many more years of doing what I love to do. Here is to learning and growing in all aspects of it. Here is to many more stylish posts from woven blends and here is to big and better in general.

One year flew by so quick and looking back, all I can say is “this too shall pass”. Everything in life does fade no matter how chaotic it seems at that point in time. My motto these days is ‘Just do It’. When you live without regrets and without fear, life becomes so much better and easier. Take your disappointments as blessings and become satisfied in the person that you are/things that you do.

Glad I could walk a year in these streets and I am hoping for many more years. This year, I want to stop living and playing safe. I love my safe haven but I want to explore the risky side of me.

I am going to take risks (obviously sensible and well thought out risks) and really just hope for the best.

Thank you to everyone who constantly stops by to read my posts. Without you all, there will be no woven blends. Thank you for your likes, comments, reposts and encouragement. Here is to a new year and more readers.

In todays post, I am wearing

H&M open-back jumpsuit

Stella McCartney blocked heels (old)

Self-Made choker
